Optional tours are available

  • Historic Stone Town: The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stone Town provides living evidence of a rich cultural heritage, where Arabic, Indian, Persian and European influences blend with local African traditions. This half-day tour takes you to all the highlights of Stone Town such as Darajani Town Market, the main bazaar in Zanzibar, as well as the former Slave Market, Forodhani Gardens with a view of the House of Wonders, Sultan Palace, Arab Old Fort and much more to explore.
  • Spectacular Spices: This half-day tour provides a rare experience proving why Zanzibar is referred to as the “Spice Island”. For centuries, the local people of Zanzibar have been growing spices and varieties of fruits. In this tour, we are delighted to take you to small spice farms in the countryside of Zanzibar where cloves, vanilla, many other spices, medicinal plants, ornamental plants and tropical fruits are grown.
  • Prison Island: Changuu Island, better known as Prison Island, lies about 30 minutes by boat from Stone Town. This half-day guided tour takes you to the island to discover its historic past and present, including the giant tortoises that roam around. The island was formerly meant to be used for the confinement of refractory slaves but no prisoners were ever housed. It became a quarantine station for yellow fever epidemics. It was bought by General Lloyd Mathews and the jail which still stands was built in 1893. Hence the name “Prison Island”. The island also houses the Aldabra giant tortoises.
  • Jozani Forest: Home to the famous endemic Kirk’s Red Colobus monkey, this half-day tour takes you into the island’s only national park to walk along its nature trails and amongst some fascinating wildlife. Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park (50km2) houses the endangered Red Colobus monkey named after the British consul Sir John Kirk and is a fascinating place to explore. On this half-day tour of nature and zoology, your guide will help you find them. Keep your eyes focused on the treetops to spot these elusive creatures and other animals such as Sykes’ monkeys, bush babies, duikers, butterflies and several birds.
  • Reef and Beach Submarine Tour: Embark on a one-of-a-kind experience as the tour commences with a ride aboard distinctive semi-submarines, which offer an upper observation deck and observation ports beneath the waterline. Journeying from Stone Town, you will have the opportunity to explore Bawe Island before making a delightful stop at a sandbank to indulge in a picnic lunch. The submarine continues its course and a speedboat will be waiting to escort you back to Stone Town. This remarkable tour promises to treat you to breathtaking vistas of the island’s attractions, including magnificent dhows, vibrant reefs, and the captivating marine life thriving beneath the surface.
  • Zanzibar Dining Options: Rooftop dining at Emerson Spice Tea House Restaurant or Terrace Restaurant at Maru Maru Hotel. Waterfront dining at The Beach House or The Floating Restaurant.
